Postcrossing

I recently came across the website Postcrosing.  The site connects people from all over the world so they can send and receive postcards from all over the world.  I, of course, decided that I needed to make my postcards!  Here are my first 5 cards.
The green and purple ones are done with Sharpies on index card weight paper.  The other two are black sharpie on watercolor paper that I dressed up with... what else but watercolors prior to drawing,

This is made on an actual Zentangle tile.  I have seen others turn simple dress forms into beautiful Tangles... I tried to start with a VERY simple shape (because as I have said before... I can't draw!)  It isn't too bad for my first try... I think it would be easier if I tried it on a larger paper... there would be more room for my pen to "roam."

Pieces for my Daddy (part 1)

I bought a frame that had 9 open 4X6 spots on it for my dad and step-mother for Christmas.  I made a series of tangles for the frame.  The frame was made so it bends the pieces a bit and makes them curved.  It was very cool and I sure hope they liked it.  Here are some of the pieces I made:

Name Tangles

I recently did my pre-clinical experiences for my degree in education and I had two teacher who helped me a lot with that.  I made the following signs for their rooms.  They are both about 8 X 6 in size.  I matted them on nice card stock and then laminated them.  I hope they liked them.

Well... at least L is for MY mom!  I made this on a Zentangle tile, sprayed it with fixative, and laminated it.  I figure my mom can use it as a bookmark.  I like the way the "shinny-ness" turned out!

Bounty

This is a large piece.  It was a full 8 1/2 X 11 sheet.  I have received comments on my Flickr Feed about how people like the "sun flowers."  Here is the link to the pattern that I used to create them.  They are called Fleuve and were designed by JayCadian202.  I have used them quite a bit lately.  They look nice in many pieces.

Color?

This was my first try at using color...  Until then I had been just working with black and I was getting used to it... then I had to write lesson plans for an art class and one of the requirements was that I had to create a project using color... so I was very tentative... I used Prisma Color Premier pencils... and they did not take too well to that paper... but... it is what it is! :)

SteamPunked in Purple

I actually did this before I had bought actual Micron pens to tangle with... I was just learning... I had a very fine point liquid purple pen... so I tried it. My son (17) thought this was very cool as it looked so SteamPunk... I agreed... I loved it... but I have not been able to get that look since... and I have made over 100 of them at this point. Go figure!

Tangle 101 - Soft Stacks Tutorial Link

I call this tile Tangle 101... why???  No idea.  When I can't come up with a name, I simply assign them a number!  :)  However, on my Flickr Feed (here) I had a suggestion of game pieces and double stuff cookies... both very good points!
They were my first attempt at the tangle Soft Stacks by Rainbow Elephant AKA Paint Chip AKA Cindy (link here).  I love them!  They are so fun to draw!

I love fishnet... but I can't always get the shading perfect.  But I really like the dimension I got on the bamboo sticks on this one.

I drew this in October and I was really happy with how it turned out.  The eyeballs actually turned out so well that my youngest son (9) covers them up because they creep him out.  I guess I must have done something right!  :)

So Excited!

I am so excited.  During my lurking and learning time I visited the Enthusiastic Artist Blog on a regular basis.  Check it out... she does stunning work. 
A few weeks back she held a contest for the anniversary of her blog.  I entered and I was lucky enough to win (can't believe it!)  She just posted all of the beautiful tiles she received as entries for the contest draw.  She posted a picture and I spotted mine!  Mine is the second from the left in the second row.  WOW... I am honored and excited!
